Wolf Pack strong safety Uche Anyanwu was asked to leave Lombardi recreation center Thursday after he was seen pushing an employee at an intramural dodge ball game, a referee said. Police were notified as Anyanwu left the building.
Anyanwu was not charged with anything.
Anyanwu’s girlfriend was asked to leave after she threw a ball from the stands onto the dodge ball court, which the referee interpreted as her throwing at him.
Anyanwu, who was only watching the game, left his seat and approached the dodge ball referee.
Anyanwu made his way to the referee who put his hands on the 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive back. Anyanwu then shoved the referee’s hands.
Anyanwu then pushed the other employee, the referee said.
Lombardi employees said the police were called as a precautionary action. The police never arrived.
Anyanwu was ranked sixth on the Wolf Pack with 55 tackles last season. The junior has missed only one game in the last two seasons with the Wolf Pack.

In his defense, the people who run intramurals are fucking assholes. I’ve seen kids kicked out of Lombardi for playing in a game at the consent of everyone present. Fuck them for forgetting why they have a fucking job in the first place, for students of the University to participate in sports.

Agreed, the intramural refs suck….one of their buddies is on a team and all of the sudden penalties and other bullshit things start to appear. They suck and it’s the same ones year after year.

Troll,
but who has the right to shove another student, especially someone who should be held in a higher regard as they are a scholarship athlete who gets to go to college for free.

Haha, this is dodgeball people. I don’t see how anyone can get that worked up about a dodgeball game. But Guy has a point, I want our school’s athletes to not have bad publicity attached to them. There has been too much of it in the past, and I am glad it has cooled down more recently.

If you don’t like the refs then don’t play intramural sports and you won’t have to deal with them. It’s that simple. If you do choose to play, you should follow the rules and be respectful. Besides, just becaue you don’t like someone, it doesn’t give you the right to shove them. What if we all went around shoving every single person we don’t like?

Then we wouldn’t have pseudo-tough guys going around the internet, posting their opinions in a self-righteous burst of outrage. And for the record, I’m just as much of a dick to people in real life, completely justifying my comments on the Sagebrush site. Violence is a perfectly reasonable alternative.
Also, being employed as a ref doesn’t give one justification for being an elitist prick, but somehow they all manage it.

sagebrush forum troll, if you really are such a prick in real life, i suppose you wouldn’t mind posting your name instead of hiding behind some bullshit screenname?

Just so everyone knows, Sagebrush forum troll isnt hiding his name, he always uses that name. I post on here all the time and I think he is one of the only people that posts more than i do. He is always on here and offers good comments. I agree with him on this. I actually know who Uche is and have met him. he isnt a thug like you people are trying to portray him. And as for the comment about our athletes going to school for “free,” they dont. As a football player they are not aallowed to have any other job durring the season because of the extensive commitment required to play on the team. Their tuition is paid for but its much deserved when it comes to the amount of money they bring in from football ticket and merch sales. Sure it probably wasnt the best move to push a ref, but I give Uche the benefit of the doubt. It was probably justified and people shouldnt talk bad about Uche because he is a cool guy.
