Four seniors will be leading this season’s Nevada Wolf Pack football team onto the field. As announced by head coach Chris Ault, center Dominic Green, running back Luke Lippincott, linebacker Joshua Mauga and defensive tackle Mundrae Clifton will serve as the captains for the 2008 Nevada football team.
Mauga is the only repeat on this list, coming off a season that was cut short by a knee injury in the team’s seventh game. Mauga is a candidate for the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year and is on the Watch List for the Butkus Award, given annually to the nation’s top linebacker.
Green is en route to being a four-year starter and is a three-time All-WAC honoree. Green is also on the fall Watch List for the 2008 Remington Trophy.
Lippincott returns after rushing for a WAC best 1,420 yards and scoring 18 combined touchdowns. Lippincott, the reigning WAC Offensive Player of the Year has been named to the Preseason All-WAC first team by Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook and The Sporting News among others.
Clifton has been named to the preseason All-WAC second-team by Athlon Sports and will anchor the defensive line.
