University to host Race for the Cure fund raiser Sunday

The University of Nevada, Reno will host the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in the Quad Sunday. Registration for the event begins at 7 a.m. The race starts at 8:30 a.m.

The event is held every year to raise money for breast cancer research and has raised more than $1.7 million so far. This is the first year the event is being held at UNR.

The races include a five-kilometer timed run, a five-kilometer walk and a one-mile walk. The races cost $10 for children, $30 for the adult fitness walks and $32 for the adult timed run. UNR students who present their student ID at the event will be charged $20 for the walk and $22 for the run.
