ASUN creates committee to represent students during budget cuts
The student government senate established a committee to research university budget cuts. The committee will present its findings to the senate, so the body can form better recommendations and opinions. The committee will also serve as a student voice to university administrators.
The Associated Students of the University of Nevada Senate voted on the resolution Wednesday. Sen. Lee Massey was the sole dissenter.
“The administration isn’t reaching out to students for input, so we have to make our voices heard,”Sen. Gracie Geremia, author of the resolution, said.
Massey said he voted against the resolution because he had something to add to the discussion and didn’t get the chance. He would not say what he was going add to the conversation.
The senate appointed Geremia, Patrick Kealy, Patrick Sergott, Nicholas Blevins, Amanda Kesjaral and Ian McMenemy to the committee.
McMenemy, chair of the committee, said he hopes the group will provide more student voice into the budget cut process.
“A lot of students are going to be affected by these cuts,”he said.

McMenemy is a tool! I wonder if he is going to make his committee memebers eat raw chicken. A T ohhh shot they got kicked off campus.

It is crucial we accurately measure how these budget cuts will harm those students who look forward to graduating soon. Since classes are being cut as well as teachers makes it harder and more expensive to graduate.
