Football: Wolf Pack sets record vs. New Mexico State
New Mexico State’s football team led 3-0 with 11:20 remaining in the first quarter. It would be the only lead the Aggies had. Nevada scored 28 unanswered points in the first quarter and cruised to a 63-20 victory against New Mexico State.
The Wolf Pack racked up 574 rushing yards, with running back Luke Lippincott leading the way with 162 rushing yards. Lippincott surpassed the 1,000 yards rushing mark, becoming the third Wolf Pack player to gain more than 1,000 rushing yards. Nevada is the first team in NCAA history to have three players rush for more than 1,000 yards.
Running back Vai Taua gained 126 yards while quarterback Colin Kaepernick rushed for 114 yards. Nevada had seven rushing touchdowns during the game.
The Wolf Pack’s next game is Nov. 27 against Boise State. The game is Nevada’s regular season finale. Both teams are undefeated in conference play, with the winner clinching the conference title.
