Nevada women’s basketball has now won five straight games with their fifth being against UC Merced. The team won 76-41 at home on Dec. 7. 

Freshman Audrey Roden led the Wolf Pack with 17 points. Lexie Givens came in next with 12, and Alyssa Jimenez followed with 10 points. Everyone on the team got playing time this game. The player with the highest points on UC Merced was Haylee Owen with oly 13 points. 

Nevada started out the first quarter with a lead and held the lead throughout the whole game. They gained 22 points in the first quarter and 12 in the second quarter to make the score 34 at half. 

UC Merced wasn’t able to get 34 points until there were four minutes left of the fourth quarter. By that time, Nevada had almost double their score. UC Merced mainly received points through free throws. Six out of the 10 points gained were from free throws. 

Nevada had over half of their points come from the bench, with the most being gained in the fourth quarter. A high of 17 points were scored in the fourth quarter by the bench out of 43 total. Nevada got 40 of their points off of turnovers and 19 points off of second chances. 

Nevada is now 6-3 and will play Bushnell at home on Dec. 11 at 2 p.m.
