The bitter cold weather was too much for Hawaii Friday as the Wolf Pack picked up its first win of the season in its Western Athletic Conference opener.

The struggling Wolf Pack soccer team almost pulled off its first win of the season Friday losing 2-1 to an undefeated Minnesota team (7-0).

The Nevada women’s soccer team fell to Portland State Sunday 2-1, which was the fourth loss of the season for Nevada.

The Wolf Pack’s march toward a third consecutive Western Athletic Conference title began Saturday as the women’s swimming and diving team held their annual team time trials.

The Wolf Pack started its season on a successful note Friday at the 2008 Nevada Twilight Cross Country Classic.
