Women from around the Reno-Sparks area gathered in front of the Joe Crowley Student Union last Thursday to celebrate International Women’s Day in the University of Nevada, Reno’s Women’s Day Parade.

Third grader Ashley Smith collected toys for the Fernley flood victims, but saw all of her work disappear when the toys were stolen a couple of weeks ago. But Greek students from the University of Nevada, Reno plan to help Smith by hosting a toy drive during Greek Mid Week.

Little yellow pieces of paper are posted around the University of Nevada, Reno, each with one phrase, printed on it – Nevadawiki.org. The Web site is dedicated to spreading the history of UNR, student leaders said.

Greg Green, speaker for the Associated Students of the University of Nevada Senate, said he and Sen. Michael Cabrera launched the Web site last December, hoping to get students to help record the history at UNR.
