Cowgirls end Nevada’s season in first round of WNIT


The Wolf Pack women's basketball team's season ended Friday with a disappointing 74-53 loss to Wyoming in the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament.

Holverson throws no-hitter in Pack’s 1-0 win


Senior Katie Holverson tossed her first career no-hitter and the Nevada softball team blanked Colorado State 1-0 on Friday at the Capital Classic.

NCAA finds major violations committed in Wolf Pack golf programs


The NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions has found that University of Nevada, Reno committed major violations in its men’s and women’s golf programs.

Jose elected undergraduate president, Sadykova vice president


Charlie Jose was elected student body president for 2010-11 with 850 votes, 137 more than his opponent Casey Stiteler. Leissan Sadykova was elected vice president with 855, and her opponent Shirley Diaz garnered 198 fewer. Both winners also carried the most votes through last week’s primaries.

News Brief: Sierra Spirit to extend hours during WAC tournament play


The Sierra Spirit will extend its hours for evenings during the Western Athletic Conference Tournament  from Wednesday to Saturday at Lawlor Events Center. Presidential candidate Jacob Camp and vice presidential candidate Ryan Childers were eliminated from the primary debates Thursday after nearly three hours of counting ballots. Presidential candidates Casey Stiteler and Charlie Jose, and vice presidential candidates Shirley Diaz and Leissan Sadykova will advance to the general election.
