This week The Nevada Sagebrush covered the Lost Boys of Sudan event, Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s speech and Blow the Whistle on Asthma Walk.

At the Lost Boys of Sudan event attendees watch a documentary about a group of teenage boys from Sudan who escaped to Kenya to avoid being killed by the Sudanese government. After the video Daniel Auyen spoke on the same topic. It was held on Sept. 10 on the fourth floor of the Joe Crowley Student Union.

Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin spoke to a crowd of over 5000 at the Pony Express Pavilion in Carson City, Nev. on Sept. 13. She talked about issues that her and Presidential nominee John McCain would address if elected to office.

About 500 volunteers, parents and children went to Damonte Ranch High School to participate in the Blow the Whistle on Asthma walk in support of finding a cure for asthma on Sept. 14.
