Charter Communications solved the problem preventing their customers from accessing unr.edu and other Nevada System of Higher Education Web sites.
George Jostlin, the director of government affairs and public relations for Charter, said the problem came from a router in San Luis Obispo, Calif. and spread west into the Reno area and north into Medford Oregon.
Student Organizations as Academic Resources (SOAR) will have its first tutoring sessions Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday starting at 5 p.m. in the Joe Crowley Student Union.
They will be part of the 24-Hour Study Hall at The Joe. Movies, an oxygen bar, massage therapists, yoga instructors and free prizes will also be available at the study hall.
Textbook Buyback will begin Wednesday and go through Dec. 18 in the Associated Students of the University of Nevada Bookstore.
Buyback will also be offered in Argenta Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 and 9.
All new textbooks are accepted. A photo ID is required.
Chevron Corporation awarded $100,000 to the National Judicial College for their Pillars of Justice Fund.
The money will be paid throughout a three-year period and be spent granting scholarships and helping better its program. Chevron awarded the money after NJC applied for a grant and was accepted as a partner to Chevron.
The University of Nevada, Reno Police Department identified John Rogers, a 23-year-old student, as the person who made repeated harassing phone calls to Campus Escort last weekend.
Rogers will not face any criminal charges. An official report will not be available until Tuesday, the police said.

Members of any campus club or organization are eligible to help tutor before final exams. Sessions will run from 3 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 10, 11 and 14.
