Secrets don’t always promote unity. But as a part of the annual Unity Week, the undergraduate student government is using them to do just that. “Pack Secret is a unique event that brings people from all walks of life together,” said Jenelle Yee, the Associated Students of the University of Nevada director of campus unity. “By filling out postcards and compiling them for a one day reading, we are bringing various individuals together.”

Undergraduate student government officials expect to post a judicial ruling today concerning an elections violation involving a faculty member endorsing a student’s campaign. Jody Lykes, a coordinator of student development in the Center for Student Cultural Diversity, said he sent out an email to a listserv of about 380 students in the College Life 101 program supporting RJ Lopez as a candidate for the Associated Students of the University of Nevada vice presidency in the days leading up to the election.

Weinstock wins ASUN presidency, Lopez wins vice presidency


Huili Weinstock has been voted in as the next undergraduate student president and RJ Lopez has been voted as the next vice president. Weinstock received 980 votes, about half the number that the current president, Casey Stiteler, received last year. Lopez received 1,063 votes.
