The Intensive English Language Center, aiming to teach foreign students about the English language and American culture, created the Conversation Partner Program to pair English students with native speakers.
“It is a year-long program that was created in 1999,†Kendee Franklin, the marketing director for the IELC, said. “It's been going on different levels of activity throughout the years because we've been crafting the program to see what works best for students. We are sort of remarketing the program.â€
