I’ve been slightly fascinated with how males perceive women’s fashion due to the commentary from my boyfriend regarding my dress. I’ll be drooling over a pair of Doc Marten boots or a certain clutch purse and he’ll look at me as if I’m speaking German. In order to better understand this fashion gap between men and women, I took a seat in my boyfriend’s living room amongst a handful of his video game-engrossed friends, hoping they would shed their light of style upon me. After a few laughs regarding the topic, the guys managed to give me some decent insight.

You’re ready to become the woman you want to be for the rest of your life, and that woman has straight bangs. You’re ready to feel those glorious little hairs run across your forehead to join the ranks of beautiful women such as Zooey Deschanel. The only problem is that there is a 99 percent chance you will end up looking like that one girl in your journalism class who got straight bangs and now has a severe case of fat-face.

Eyeglass shopping is a nightmare. Walking into LensCrafters is like entering purgatory. I leave with enough hope to think I might eventually find a pair of heavenly eyeglasses after trying on Chanel frames.

Welcome back to school, bros. I hope this summer was as much of a three-month long party for you as it was for me. Now that we’re back to daily classes and the scholastic lifestyle of semesters past, it’s time to get in the zone and clean up your act. That means toss out those Keystone-stained Man-dals and buy a new pair of shoes. Whether this is your first or final year of schooling here at the University of Nevada, Reno, this is the time of year to make a great impression and no piece of clothing speaks louder than a man’s shoes.

By now you all know that I am cynical and snarky and love to rant about the crimes of fashion that happen all too often here on the University of Nevada, Reno campus. No other fashion crime, not even Crocs, makes me angrier and more disgusted than seeing tights and leggings being worn in the place of pants. Leggings are not pants. I repeat, leggings and tights are not pants, and therefore should never be worn in place of pants unless you are Lady Gaga or Cher circa 1989.
