On Saturday nights in Las Vegas, thousands of people fill downtown nightclubs. Lines stretch through casinos such as The Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and the Bellagio, where guests can pay cover charges ranging from $10-100 just to gain entry to the clubs inside. Strict dress codes are implemented.

Saturday, the streets of downtown Reno will be overrun with zombies enjoying Halloween festivities, local businesses and, of course, plenty of inexpensive alcoholic beverages.

Rock group plans ‘Escape’ to the Knit


Las Vegas post-hardcore group Escape the Fate has come a long way since winning a contest from a local radio station in order to open for My Chemical Romance in 2005. Since then, the group has changed singers and released three studio albums, the third of which came out last November. The group will perform a headlining show at the Knitting Factory next Tuesday.

Years ago, scalpers were seen as the sleazy guys standing outside of a venue wearing trench coats lined with tickets trying to make a profit off of desperate fans. Concert to give a ‘taste’ of local talent


Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity is teaming up with the Knitting Factory to host 12 local bands in its third annual “Taste of Reno” on Saturday. The live show represents the largest locals-only event in the area.

The Knitting Factory hosted yet another sold out performance on Friday night, in what has been a very short time since its opening here in Reno. Storming the stage this time in an evening packed with solid performance were Las Vegas natives Taking Dawn and Adelitas Way, the predominantly female driven Halestorm and headliners Theory of a Deadman, summing up to one extremely impressive musical set.

Candlebox heats up Knitting Factory


I have to admit, I had no idea who Candlebox was before going to see them in concert at the Knitting Factory. So, in an attempt to do some research, I searched them on Google. What I found was an acoustic version of one of their songs, which sounded rather mellow. Boy, that was not a good representation.
