Monthly comedy night arrives on campus scene

Touring comedian Kris Tinkle headlined the first monthly comedy night Saturday in the Joe Crowley Student Union. He performed alongside local comedians Christian Reyes and the Wolf Pack Comedy Troupe. More than 200 people showed up to witness the occasion inside the Joe Crowley Student Union Theater.

Pack Comedy Troupe apologizes for offensive sketch

The Wolf Pack Comedy Troupe issued a formal apology to university students and faculty after performing a skit that many said mirrored blackface minstrelsy and was offensive. The skit, performed at a leadership conference Feb. 20, included performers wearing brown paint on their face and poking fun at President Barack Obama.

Troupe accused of racist comedy

Student government officials and advisors are apologizing for a comedy skit performed at an Associated Students of the University of Nevada leadership conference Saturday. The skit, which was put on by the Wolf Pack Comedy Troupe, seemed to mimic blackface comedy, a form of improvisation that was popular during anti-African American movements in the 1800s, ASUN officials said.
