Turning Point USA (TPUSA) reportedly dropped Comedian Chris D’Elia from their Love It or Leave It Tour, including a tour event at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), after allegations of sexual misconduct resurfaced.
In previous TPUSA promotional material, Chris D’Elia was one of many national headliners alongside high profile right-wing activists such as Donald Trump Jr. and Erika Kirk. D’Elia is no longer on any promotional material or TPUSA’s website.
In interviews with Rolling Stones magazine, 10 women came forward claiming D’Elia solicited inappropriate videos and photos over social media. They further claim he stalked them, imposed curfews and monitored their weight. Four of the women claimed to have been teenagers when then-43-year-old D’Elia contacted them.
He was also previously accused of making sexual demands online and harassing women in 2020. Comedy Central subsequently removed an episode featuring D’Elia. He was also dropped by Netflix for a prank show and recast in an upcoming zombie movie, according to the LA Times.
On Reddit, a user in the Reno and UNR subreddits posted pleas to students and locals to get D’Elia removed from the event amidst his allegations, claiming, “UNR is allowing a pedophile to speak on campus with some students who may be your kids … not every kid on campus is over the age of 18 which is putting them at risk.”
D’Elia has denounced allegations of misconduct and said he wasn’t “doing the Turning Point thing” through his Instagram page.
TPUSA’s UNR chapter declined to comment or confirm whether D’Elia had been dropped after multiple requests for comment from The Nevada Sagebrush.
The TPUSA UNR event will be on Oct. 5 in the Joe Crowley Student Union with speakers Jeff Dye, Riley Gaines, Will Witt and Nala Ray.
