Angela Moore, the previous program development specialist for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, was announced as the office’s new interim director on Sept. 6 by Brian Sandoval, the president of the University of Nevada, Reno. The previous inaugural officer was Eloísa Gordon-Mora who served from 2019 until 2022.

Moore started at the university as a teaching assistant and academic advisor in 2019 for the English department. Since then, she became the development specialist in June 2022, to which she worked to create and lead diversity and inclusion training for the campus, was a leader at the Northern Nevada Diversity Summit and lead the production of “Recommendations for a Welcoming & Inclusive Syllabus Resource,” according to the email announcment from the Office of the President.

“I wish to thank Dr. Moore for the outstanding work she has done over the past year in furthering our Diversity and Inclusion mission, and in her willingness to continue to lead this effort for the coming academic year,” Sandoval said in the email. “A national search for the position of Director of Diversity and Inclusion will begin early next year.  Please join me in congratulating Dr. Moore in her new position and thanking her for her incredible service to our campus community.
