It’s October: Stop Wearing Flip Flops

It is truly an epidemic, all these people walking around campus in their flip flops.

I get it when it’s warm and sunny and you’re walking to the beach, but it’s not anymore. It’s October now and you are walking to Tulloch.

I won’t mention that I know your feet are cold. I just want you to know that I know. Walking to class in the mornings, it’s barely 50 degrees, and even throughout the day when it gets warmer, there is still the crisp, cool feel in the air.

Okay, maybe I did get started about how your feet are most definitely cold, but that’s not even my main point. Flip-flop behavior is the real issue here.

You’re loud walking up and down the stairs, and if you think even for a second that you can take the flip flops off while sitting in class and let your bare feet just hang out, you must have lost your mind.

The only bare foot I want is the Barefoot Peach Fruitscato, okay? Okay. Let’s leash up the dogs in public, please.

Now let me offer some solutions so we can end the flip/flops-in-fall thing once and for all. Number one on my list is the Birkenstock clogs.

I don’t care what anyone says, those clogs are cute and they are comfortable and you can wear them with a sock. That’s a big win. A great fall shoe addition that is easy to slip on without exposing the toes.

The second option is a good and trusty Ugg boot. Uggs are practical, they are cute and they genuinely will never go out of style, especially the classic ultra minis. Once again a great slip-on shoe that doesn’t slip off your foot or flop around on the campus buildings’ concrete stairs. They will also keep your foot nice and warm during the chilly fall mornings.

Maybe I am just a hater, but that’s kind of the point. I don’t want to see your feet, and I think that wearing flip flops into the fall is doing way too much.

So, just as you are bringing out your sweaters, bring out a nice pair of socks and tuck away those flip flops until spring break in Cabo.
